A cased double barreled percussion holster pistol by James Purdey of London with 20 bore 7.5in barrels with platinum lines and vents.
Signed on the top rib 'J. Purdey No.314 1/2 Oxford Street, London'.
With original ramrod, locks signed 'Purdey' with safety bolts and dolphin hammers.
Serial number: 1914
Profusely engraved overall including trigger-guard with some original finish.
Silver escutcheons on the barrel bolt.
Woodwork with some abraisons.
This pistol is one of a pair with a vacant space in the mahogany case.
Full accessories including the very rare Purdey nipple key.
This pistol was made for ball or shot with 2 bullet moulds in the case together with red leather three-way flask.
