Flintlock Cannon Igniter
A very rare flintlock cannon igniter circa 1820, made at the small gun office at the Tower of London. Overall length: 22in, trigger is 15in from the touchhole. The action is gunmetal. It is engraved with a George III crown with ‘G R’ underneath and a Government storekeeper’s mark. A similar one can be seen on Pg 173 ‘British Military Firearms 1650 to 1850’ by Howard Blackmore.
