Double Casing Dougall Pistols
Double casing Dougall percussion pistols consisting of
one 40 bore double barrelled percussion pistol
with sighted barrels signed on the flat,
foliate scroll engraved,
case hardened action with hammers en suite,
blued belt hook on the left,
finely chequered walnut butt, foliate scroll,
engraved steel mounts with blued trigger guard
and case hardened void butt cap
with circular trap cover.
Blued stirrup ramrod housed in a blued rib
beneath the barrels
and vacant silver escutcheon with most original finish.
Overall length 9in.
Also one 18 bore single barrelled percussion belt pistol
by the same maker
with features as above, with most original finish.
London cased with a Sykes flask, a pewter oil bottle,
two different bore moulds, one for each pistol.
Mahogany case with inlaid carrying handle.
Circa 1845.
